The core business for the shop is MPI work but the Engine Shop team will go anywhere to support the customer and their engines whether they are MSP or non-MSP. It is unusual to find all team members in the shop at any one time as they are often called away to provide in the field, on-wing support for both defect rectification and AOG situations.
The Engine Shop is also able to carry out vibrations surveys and fan trim balancing, compressor wash, 5-point performance evaluations and cavity vent pressure checks in the field. Also borescope inspections of engines can be performed by the team either in the field or back in the shop. Engines sent into the shop are repaired or, if found to be outside our level of capability, they are shipped off to the heavy facility for core repair work and CZI sign-off with test cell runs as applicable.
Significant investment has recently been made by Harrods Aviation enabling us to offer new generation Honeywell TFE731 -20/-40/-60 engine support. The investment will ensure the continued future success of the Engine Shop and better support for customers.
The Engine Shop remains committed to high levels of support and service to existing -2/-3/-4/-5 classic engine customers, which will include series upgrades over time. The Engine Shop works closely with Honeywell in the N1 DEEC upgrades and modifications on a number of customers’ engines. In 2007, it is working with Honeywell MSP administration for the incorporation of the 3D upgrades to a number of off-base and contracted aircraft.
Furthermore we expect growth in European ownership of the Bombardier Challenger 300. We anticipate an increase in our capability from flight line support to possible line support of our Bombardier 300 customers for the HTF7000 engine in the future. |
